MAC released a new two-part collection today. One part is called Shop MAC, and the other part is called Cook MAC. Shop MAC includes 17 products, and Cook MAC includes 15 products. Shop MAC sees the release of six limited edition shades of lipstick, four of which are new and two of which are re-promotes. They come in regular black packaging with secondary cardboard packaging in neon chartreuse with pink and teal bubbles surrounding the MAC logo. Each lipstick contains 3 grams of product, and retails for $17.50. These are applicable for the Back To MAC recycling program.
Innocence, Beware!, Naughty Sauté, Watch Me Simmer, Quick Sizzle, Dish It Up, and Runaway Red
Innocence, Beware! is a light pinky-peach nude in a Cremesheen finish. This is a re-promoted shade from 2010's Venomous Villains collection, and is limited edition. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has medium pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. This is slightly darker and more pink than Hue, and lighter and less pink than Creme Cup.Naughty Sauté is a light-medium cool-toned pink in a Cremesheen finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and nearly opaque colour pay-off. It is slightly darker than Royal Azalea Sheen Supreme, and lighter and cooler than Pink Nouveau.Watch Me Simmer is a medium bright coral that leans very slightly pink in an Amplified finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is very slightly more pink than Vegas Volt, and very slightly darker than Full Speed Sheen Supreme, but both are quite similar.Quick Sizzle is a medium bright cool-toned fuchsia pink in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. As far as mattes go, this one is non-drying and goes on creamy. It is less blue-toned than Girl About Town.Dish It Up is a medium-dark muted fuchsia-plum in a Lustre finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has medium-high pigmentation and mostly opaque colour pay-off. It is more pigmented than most Lustre lipsticks. It is less brown than Craving, and brighter than Plumful.Runaway Red is a medium-dark cool-toned red in a Satin finish. This is a re-promoted shade from last fall's MAC Me Over collection, and is limited edition. It goes on smoothly and evenly, and has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is more cool-toned than Viva Glam I.
All six lipsticks were good across the board in terms of formulation. With the exception of Innocence, Beware!, these are all bright (love!), so for those who missed out on the Iris Apfel lipsticks, you may want to take a look at these. If you missed out on Innocence, Beware! from Venomous Villains, now is your chance to pick one up. If you like Runaway Red, you're better off getting Viva Glam I, which is really similar and 100% of the selling price goes to the MAC AIDS Fund. Many of these lipsticks are selling out fast, so get yourself to a MAC counter ASAP!
i picked up quick sizzle & watch me simmer and love them. i regret not swatching naughty saute & dish it up xD
ReplyDeleteIt's okay, apparently, Quick Sizzle and Watch Me Simmer were the first two to sell out online, and in most stores, actually! So at least you got the two really coveted ones. ;)
DeleteDish It Up is an interesting colour but I wonder if it'll clash with yellow skin tones. Have you worn it with a full look?
ReplyDeleteYep! I don't find it clashes at all -- I actually find that Naughty Sauté and Quick Sizzle to be more "clashy" with yellow skintones. You should try it in-store to see if you like it! :) It's a really gorgeous colour!
