MAC Heavenly Creature: Cremesheen Glasses

MAC released a new collection in-stores yesterday called Heavenly Creature. This collection is comprised of three different parts: Colour, Eyes, and Skin. Together, Heavenly Creature features a total of 35 products — 25 of which are new and limited edition, three of which are re-promotes, and seven of which are permanent. Heavenly Creature sees the release of five shades of Cremesheen Glass, all of which are new and limited edition. Cremesheen Glass "fuses the creamy, sheen-filled nature of Cremesheen lipstick with the shine of Lipglass" in a "soft, comfortable, non-sticky" formula. They are vanilla-scented but taste-free. Each lipstick comes in regular black packaging with a doe-foot applicator, contains 2.7 grams of product, and retails for $22.50.

Astral, Celestial Kiss, Galaxy Rose, Meteoric, and Strictly Plutonic

Astral is a medium brightened strawberry pink with fine micro-shimmer. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is lightweight and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is more pink than Double Dare.

Celestial Kiss is a light muted peach with fine micro-shimmer. It is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is lightweight and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more peach than Boy Bait, and darker and less milky than Fashion Whim.

Galaxy Rose is a deepened raspberry pink. The texture is lightweight and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is darker and more reddened than Star Nova Lustreglass, and less purple than Oversexed Plushglass.

Meteoric is a medium brightened coral-pink with fine golden micro-shimmer. The texture is lightweight and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium-high pigmentation and semi-opaque colour pay-off. It is much more pink than Richer, Lusher, and less frosted than Pink Lemonade Lipglass.

Strictly Plutonic is a medium-dark brown-based rose pink. The texture is lightweight and creamy, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has medium pigmentation and semi-sheer colour pay-off. It is more pink than Deelight, and lighter and less brown than Over Indulgence.

Cremesheen Glass is by far my favourite lip gloss formula from MAC for a few reasons — they're non-sticky, ultra-creamy, super-glossy, and are excellent for layering. The major drawback here is the wear-time, which is three hours at most, but that's the only thing that could be improved upon, in my opinion. While they are not touted as moisturizing, they are definitely not drying, and I feel that these keep my lips soft. Plus, I don't get that dreaded "white ring" around the inside of my lips. These five shades are all really lovely, and are actually more pigmented than a typical Cremesheen Glass, which is generally semi-sheer. These give lips a nice wash of colour while making them look full and juicy — great for those who want to play up their natural lip colour without covering it up completely.

  1. I never expect longevity from glosses though those original NARS ones are ultra sticky and long-lasting as hell. Galaxy Rose and Meteoric look especially pretty!

    1. It's true -- the stickier the formula, the longer wearing it will be. MAC's Pro Longwear Lipglass is like GLUE.

I'm definitely more of a lipstick girl, but Cremesheen Glasses are really a joy to wear with or without lipstick! My favourites are Astral and Meteoric. :) So pretty!
