Tomorrow, MAC will be releasing its collaboration collection with Archie Comics, called Archie's Girls. As the name implies, this collection is inspired by Betty and Veronica and their "epic love triangle" with Archie. This collection "captures the legendary rivalry of sweet blonde Betty and vivacious brunette Veronica" with "two contrasting colour collections." This collection is comprised of 32 products — 24 of which are new and limited edition, two of which are re-promotes, and six of which are permanent — and five collectable accessories (which will only be available online and at MAC Stores). Archie's Girls sees the release of two new shades of Pearlmatte Face Powder, one for each Betty and Veronica (this is the review for Betty's shade). Pearlmatte Face Powders combine "pearlized and satin shades" that can be used "for highlighting and blush effects or as an eyeshadow with a velvet smooth finish." Each Pearlmatte Powder comes in a special edition glossy white compact featuring a comic-style design with the faces of Betty, Archie, and Veronica. This design extends to the box packaging as well. Each lipstick contains 10 grams of product, and retails for $35.
Flatter Me is a light warm peach frosted base with medium coral-pink satin hearts. When mixed together, it creates a medium soft pinked coral with a subtle golden sheen. This is a new and limited edition shade. The texture is soft, silky, and finely-milled, and it goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more pink than Springsheen, and lighter and more peach than Peachykeen.
Worst time to be on a makeup "fast"... AM TOTALLY GRUMPY NOW.
ReplyDeleteHATE EVERYONE. (*!@&#(@*&#(
But, yeah, that is totally gorgeous. Hot. So ho.
It's probably better that you're on a fast, anyway, 'cause this powder sold out in about an hour in-stores. :P
DeleteLOVE this shade, though. And I'm glad it's dark enough to be a nice blush, 'cause the other Pearlmatte Face Powder that came out with this collection is really quite light and is better off as a highlighter or finishing product (like to blend on top of a blush).
Erm...still don't like the packaging...but does this sorta look like Shell Pearl? LOL. You've got that damn powder in my head now and it's all I want! haha
ReplyDeleteLOL! No, this is darker and more peach than Shell Pearl... But they're both in the same family and both look gorgeous on the skin. :) This shade works better as a blush, and Shell Pearl works better as a highlight!
DeleteLOL @ Mary
ReplyDeleteIf I wanted anything from this collection, it was this one. But I wanted Chanel Frivole more!
This is probably my favourite product from the entire collection. :)
DeleteI'm always tempted to buy Chanel but then I think of the cost per use on their products and it'd be like, $5 per use. Not because I don't wanna use their products, but because I have SO MUCH OF EVERYTHING that I'd always be trying out new things, ya know?
Chanel Frivole is gorgeous, though!
