Today, MAC released its collaboration collection with Archie Comics, called Archie's Girls. As the name implies, this collection is inspired by Betty and Veronica and their "epic love triangle" with Archie. This collection "captures the legendary rivalry of sweet blonde Betty and vivacious brunette Veronica" with "two contrasting colour collections." This collection is comprised of 32 products — 24 of which are new and limited edition, two of which are re-promotes, and six of which are permanent — and five collectable accessories (which will only be available online and at MAC Stores). Archie's Girls sees the release of six new shades of lipstick, three for each Betty and Veronica. Each lipstick comes in a special edition glossy white tube featuring a comic-style design of either Betty or Veronica. They are packaged in special edition white glossy boxes featuring a comic-style design with the faces of Betty, Archie, and Veronica. Each lipstick contains 3 grams of product, and retails for $20. Due to the special edition packaging, these are not applicable for the Back to MAC recycling program.

RONNIE RED! lol
ReplyDeleteI knew Betty colours would not appeal to me at all. I kind of wish they had done a selection for Archie's colours. With his red hair... missed opportunity there!
Haha, I knew Ronnie Red would get your attention. ;) Ironically, I think that's the most dupeable shade of the bunch! People were going nuts for it, though. Like, it sold out in about five minutes.
DeleteI actually really like Betty Bright, but it's very much a Spring/Summer shade for many people. Maybe this summer, Liz, you'll have a thing for coral lips...
I don't know how well Archie colours would have done... I mean, what do we associate with him other than his red hair, right? :P
Ronnie Red is quite striking! Though I think I have enough red lippies for a while lol. I don't mind any of these shades really (except Girl Next Door), but again - not wowed. I think partly it's the packaging that's essentially got me not interested in any of the collection - not a fan of white packaging! Now, that Year of the Snake collex...LOL!
ReplyDeleteEveryone went APESHIT for Ronnie Red. But I swear, it's the most dupeable colour of the bunch, so I don't think you're missing out too much. I actually really like the shades released with this collection (except, like you, I'm not a huge fan of Girl Next Door), regardless of the packaging. I think I would've bought them if they were in regular packaging, too. :P
DeleteThe Year of the Snake collection is truly gorgeous! But the lipsticks released with it are permanent, so you can still get your hands on the shades (sadly, though, with no snake embossing). :)
