Divinity is a light warm cream beige in a matte finish. It has a soft and finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It is similar to Too Faced White Chocolate, slightly darker than Too Faced Coconut Créme, warmer than MAC Shroom, darker than MAC Blanc Type, and similar to Makeup Geek Vanilla Bean.
I wouldn't describe myself as a girly girl, but the Hello Kitty-, unicorns-, and sparkles-loving side of me had to get her hands on this palette. It is so freaking adorable, from the pink tin case to the heart-shaped shadows, that even if I didn't receive this for Christmas, I wouldn't have thought twice about buying this for myself. Cuteness factor aside, the shadows are all beautiful — so silky and smooth and pigmented — and there's a great variety of neutrals (both warm and cool) and unexpected shades (like Totally Fetch, a hot pink that is more wearable than you might think, and Earl Grey, which ended up being a lot more unique than I thought it would be when I was searching for dupes). I've been using this for a few weeks now, and it's quickly become my go-to palette because the shades are just so easy to wear together and blend out like a dream. This palette will remain part of Too Faced's permanent range so you don't have to rush out to get it... but what better gift to get yourself (or another make-up loving fiend) for Valentine's?
This is prettier than I expected! I try to keep the number of massive palettes like this down, because I reach for them rarely. IN theory, having a large palette as the main go-to is a good idea, but since I already have so many smaller ones, lol, that never works out. I do like some of the shades here a lot, though, and that last set of swatches is especially gorgeous! I feel like Too Faced is maybe having a moment, huh?
ReplyDeleteGod, the amount of palettes I own is disgusting. I usually reach for my custom palettes (like MAC or Makeup Geek) than these pre-made ones, but I go through phases where I'll just be obsessed with one. I mean, to be fair, every brand has multiple palettes and most of them are neutral, so there ends up being a lot of overlap. That having been said, I have found these Too Faced Chocolate Bars to be really worth having 'cause there's more shades than a typical palette (16 vs. the usual 12) and the price is really good for the amount and the quality. And I think you're right -- Too Faced is totally having a moment! I want all of their new releases. :P There's this peanut butter palette that's coming out and it is so ridiculously cute, I might just cave, lol.
