Too Faced Sweet Peach Collection: Papa Don't Peach Peach-Infused Blush

Last month, Too Faced re-released their Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette, and with it, expanded their Sweet Peach franchise to include a blush, a highlighting palette, and a series of oil lip glosses. The Sweet Peach collection as a whole are all peach-based shades and are all scented like peach. The blush, called Papa Don't Peach (a play on the Madonna hit, "Papa Don't Preach") is inspired by "a dinner in Paris, [where] Too Faced Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer Jerrod Blandino had a culinary moment with a peach trifle dessert that featured peaches roasted on an open flame and caramelized. That rich bronzy peach colour inspired him to bring back the iconic Papa Don't Peach Blush from the Too Faced archives. He says it is the perfect natural blush with just enough warmth and a pop of luminosity that every woman can wear." It is housed in a square peach-orange ombré metallic tin with an interior mirror and magnetic closure; the lid features their smiley-faced peach cartoon icon (which is on all of their Sweet Peach products) with their logo and "Papa Don't Peach" written in gold script. The powder itself is embossed with the same design on the lid. Each Papa Don't Peach Blush contains 9 grams of product, and retails for $38 CAD. It is available both in-store and online at Sephora, and online at Too Faced

Papa Don't Peach

Papa Don't Peach

Papa Don't Peach is a medium warm bronzed peach with a gilded pink shimmer-sheen in a frosted finish. This is a new and permanent shade. It has a soft, finely-milled, almost buttery texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more bronzed than MAC Springsheen, more peach than NARS Orgasm, more muted than NARS Deep Throat, more peach than Becca Flowerchild, and slightly warmer than Tarte Glisten.

Papa Don't Peach has a really lovely texture that is soft and finely-milled and applies really smoothly and evenly. I didn't find it to be dry or powdery at all, and it blends out easily and layers up nicely. This blush has technically been released before, but from what I've seen in online swatches, the two versions are quite different, with the original one being darker, pinker, and less frosted. The packaging on this one is ultra-cute and girly, veering on kitschy, which will appeal to many and not to some, but it follows Too Faced's overall aesthetic. The peach scent is the same as the eyeshadow palette, which may be off-putting to those who don't like any fragrance in their makeup, but it is very much a fresh peach scent rather than a super-sweet, sickly, artificial kind of peach, so for me, it remains a fun olfactory addition and a nice touch to a peach-themed collection. Either way, it doesn't linger on the skin after application; you just get a nice whiff of it when you open the palette to add a sensory dimension to using it. However, if you have sensitivities to fragrance in your cosmetics, I would skip this. The colour itself is a lovely gilded peach that will flatter fair to medium-dark skintones, and it has a gold-pink pearl finish that leaves a noticeable gleam on the skin but doesn't emphasize skin texture. That having been said, there are a ton of dupes for this out there, both cheaper and more expensive, so it's very likely that you'll have something similar. I would look in your stash to see what you have first and if you find this to be worth getting — but for me, this was just way too cute to resist.
