Glamour Light is a light warm butter yellow in a Satin finish. It is a re-promoted shade from 2016's Flamingo Park collection (in the Flamingo Park x 9 Palette). It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is lighter and less frosted than Ricepaper, more yellow and more shimmery than Brule, and darker and less frosted than Nylon.
Soleil, So Lovely is a light-medium neutral-warm taupe-brown in a Matte finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is warmer than Omega, cooler than Wedge, and more taupe than Cork.
¡Arriba! is a medium warm copper orange in a Frost finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is darker and more muted than Coppering, more orange and more muted than Ruddy, and brighter and more orange than Copper Sparkle Pigment.
Carnal Charm is a medium-dark warm vibrant persimmon red in a Matte finish. This is a re-promoted shade from March's Eyes on MAC collection (in the Red Hot x 9 Palette). It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more red than Red Brick, darker and more red than Rule, and slightly more orange than News Flash!.
Fuchsia Fury is a medium-dark cool vibrant watermelon pink in a Satin finish. This is a re-promoted shade from March's Eyes on MAC collection (in the Red Hot x 9 Palette). It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more red than Passionate, more pink than Never Say Never, and cooler and more pink than News Flash!.
Cocktail Black is a deep-dark neutral blackened brown in a Satin finish. This is a new and limited edition shade. It has a soft, finely-milled texture, and goes on smoothly and evenly. It has high pigmentation and opaque colour pay-off. It can be layered and blended out easily. It is more muted and less matte than Brun, more muted and cooler than Embark, and warmer than Black Factor (In the Flesh x 15).
Like Love in the Glades, the quality of the shadows in Fruit a La La are fantastic across the board: they all go on smoothly, evenly, and pigmented with great colour pay-off, and they blend out beautifully. These are the colours I think of when I think tropical: vibrant, warm, sunny. They're fun, happy, summery shades. However, the only real medium shade or transition colour in this palette is Soleil, So Lovely, which ends up looking ashy against warm bright shades like ¡Arriba!, Carnal Charm, and Fuchsia Fury. Likewise, Cocktail Black is much darker and much cooler than the rest of the palette — it works well as an eyeliner shade, but if you wanted to do a smoky eye, it's hard to blend into the other shades seamlessly. Obviously, if you just want to create that one bright orange/red sunset look, it's easy to do with this. But if you want to create more cohesive looks with this palette, it'll take a little more work. For example, to make a warmer transition colour, I dip my brush in both Soleil, So Lovely and Carnal Charm to create a warm peachy brown before applying it to my lid; likewise, I'll warm up Cocktail Black by dipping my brush into Fuchsia Fury first to create a warm raisin shade, which makes it easier to execute a smoky eye with this palette. (Actually, if you're willing to splurge, this palette and the Oh My Banana palette work incredibly well together). However, for the average person, this is going to be a more difficult palette to work with. I also have to note that two of the shades here (Carnal Charm and Fuchsia Fury) are from the Red Hot x 9 Palette that was released in March, so if you bought that palette, you won't need this one. Ultimately, I think Fruit a La La is a really fun palette for summer and if you're into bright warm colours, it's worth checking out, but this is definitely a more advanced palette that requires a bit more time and work.
